In addition to my own research, I am part of team from Northeastern University and the University of South Alabama working with New England groundfish fishing communities. The goal of this two year project is to assess and begin to mitigate the social impacts of drastic cuts to quota within the groundfish industry. A strong component of this project is based in Gloucester, MA, where fishing is both historically and economically important.
